Details of Business Transacted by the Research Analyst
The Research Analyst transacts the following core activities with respect to investors:
- Publish research reports based on research activities.
- Provide an independent, unbiased view on securities.
- Offer unbiased recommendations, disclosing financial interests in recommended securities.
- Provide research recommendations based on analysis of publicly available information and known observations.
- Conduct annual audits.
- Ensure all advertisements adhere to the provisions of the Advertisement Code for Research Analysts.
- Maintain records of interactions with all clients, including prospective clients (prior to onboarding), where conversations related to research services take place.
Details of Services Provided to Investors
1. Onboarding of Clients
- Sharing terms and conditions of research services.
- Completing KYC of fee-paying clients.
2. Disclosures & Operational Transparency
- Disclose information material for the client to make an informed decision, including business activity, disciplinary history, terms, associate details, risks, and conflicts of interest.
- Disclose the extent of use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in providing research services.
- Disclose material conflicts of interest when distributing third-party research reports, or provide a web link directing recipients to relevant disclosures.
- Disclose conflicts of interest arising from research analyst activities with other business operations.
- Distribute research reports and recommendations to clients without discrimination.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding research report publication until made available in the public domain.
- Respect client data privacy rights and implement security measures against unauthorized use of confidential information.
- Disclose service timelines and ensure strict adherence to established turnaround times.
- Provide clear guidance and adequate caution notices when recommending complex or high-risk financial products.
- Treat all clients with honesty and integrity.
- Ensure confidentiality of client information unless disclosure is required under legal obligations or explicit client consent is provided.
Grievance Redressal Mechanism & Access Channels
Investors can lodge complaints or grievances against a Research Analyst through the following modes:
- Direct Approach to Research Analyst: Approach the concerned Research Analyst directly. The RA shall strive to redress the grievance immediately, but not later than 21 days of receipt.
- Escalation via SCORES 2.0 & RAASB: Complaints can be escalated online through SCORES 2.0 at the SEBI SCORES 2.0 Portal. Grievances undergo a two-level review:
- First Level Review: Designated body (RAASB – Research Analyst Administration and Supervisory Body).
- Second Level Review: Conducted directly by SEBI.
- Online Dispute Resolution (SMART ODR): If not satisfied with the resolution, investors may file grievances on the SMART ODR Platform for online conciliation or arbitration.

Do’s for Investors
- Always deal with SEBI-registered Research Analysts and verify their credentials on the SEBI Recognized Intermediaries Portal or the SEBI Research Analyst Directory.
- Pay close attention to disclosures made in research reports before making investment decisions.
- Pay fees only through official banking channels and maintain signed receipts. Utilize the Centralized Fee Collection Mechanism (CeFCoM) if available.
- Check recommended research reports before buying/selling securities or applying for public offers.
- Ask relevant questions and clear doubts with your Research Analyst before acting on recommendations.
- Remember that you have the right to stop availing services or provide feedback as per agreed terms.
- Know that you are not bound by any clause prescribed by an RA that contravenes regulatory provisions.
- Immediately inform SEBI if a Research Analyst offers assured or guaranteed returns.
Don’ts for Investors
- Do not provide investment funds directly to the Research Analyst.
- Do not fall prey to luring advertisements, market rumors, limited-period discounts, gifts, or sales incentives.
- Do not share login credentials or passwords for trading, demat, or bank accounts with the Research Analyst.
